Sports Leadership Level 6

Sports Leadership level 6 is a qualification that is available to pupils in S5- S6. The course involves pupils learning responsibility and leadership skills in order to lead other people, including younger children, community groups and either working with the elderly or the disabled  in sporting activity.
Sessions will largely be practical in nature but this will be supplemented normally by a weekly theory session in a classroom.
A variety of different activities will be undertaken throughout the year, with pupils gaining experience and content of the different activities. These activities will include:
 - Football
 - Basketball
 - Volleyball
 - Badminton
 - Hockey
 - Dodgeball
 - Fitness
 - Netball

The main assessment in Sports Leadership Level 6 involves completing 30 hours of volunteering.  In Sports Leadership Level 6 this must be done largely independently.
Although the qualification is either passed or failed, varying levels of pass can be achieved depending on how much coaching pupils undertake and if they do any additional sporting qualifications or courses.
